Finished Baby Dress

The BlueSky Dress is finally finished and ready to get to Riley's grandma. I hope to have a photo of Riley in her new little all natural/organically dyed cotton dress soon. Until then here is the completed dress with buttons and a close-up.

I changed the sleeve pattern. I like it better with just 2 rows of moss stitch instead of the lace insert. I also did a crochet cast on for the collar. It gave a cleaner edge for the fold over. Now to find my next project. I don't have a clue. So the challenge is on to find something. Knit On!

Contest and Baby Dress

Go check out Alana for her blogoversary contest. This is the first time I've actually entered and posted a comment about the contest on my blog. Thanks to Grace's announcement on her blog.

The Baby Dress is finished! All that is left to do is sew on the buttons and take a photo after I block it. I hope to have a photo posted by Sunday.

Have a great weekend everyone! Knit On!

BlueSky Alpaca Baby Dress Update

Going slow. But I am a slow knitter. Here is the progress so far. I'm hoping this weekend I can have the back and front bodice area completed. Its an easy knit except for the starting ruffle! I'm just very slow. I get distracted easily and stop to do other things that need to be done around the house.

And sometimes it kind of hard to knit when you have Pansy sitting on your shoulder like a parrot (that's when I call her Pansy Polly Parrot). She is jealous when I knit. Means mommy isn't paying enough attention to her. But if I can get her situation on my shoulder so that she is curled up by my neck... she will let me knit and then we are both happy. She's my little charmer. Out of all 4 dogs she has me and Andrew wrapped around her little finger "paws". She controls the pack. She has to sleep at the head of the bed between us... the others best stay back. But we love them all and they all get even treatment--just that Pansy gets to perch on mommy's shoulder.

Also a BIG THANKS to Grace for the ruffle....

Updated -- Thing We Shouldn't Do When Sleepy

Well I updated to the new templates.... and lost a few of my items in the side nav bar. I saved the old template, at least I said to save it. Who knows where. I only lost a few things, my webring buttons and links and my buttons of knitty.com and magknits.com. I'll have to take some time later to figure out how to put them back in. Oh well.... off to dreamland. Goodnight All.

A Little Knitting

Work has been busy this week--designing and creating trade show posters. So there hasn't been much time for knitting this week. I'm about 6 inches deep into the BlueSky Alpaca Baby Dress. It's going to be so cute. I hope this week I'll have more time and can at least get to the bodice area. I hope to have it finished by the end fo the month.

Someone tossed out a really nice iron leg endtable. I rescueded it will be refinishing it with a mosiac top for my mom's patio. She's been wanting a little table for her coffee when she sits outside in the morning. And this is the perfect size. Not too big or too small. I'm going to use scrapbooking paper for the tiles and finish off with a very thick coat of poly. I'm thinking of doing a large sunflower design with swirls of blues in the back ground like VanGogh's Starry Night. Guess I need to go to AC Moore sometimes today and purchase paper. I'll post a photo when completed.

Well, time for the Sunday chores.... Happy Knitting Everyone! And have a great week!
